One record matters more than any ranking when reading a university page: the Home Office register of student sponsors, which is what permits an institution to issue the CAS a student visa requires. Teesside University appears on it, and on the register that carries degree-awarding powers; this page sets out the institution’s subjects, entry requirements, fee arrangements and application steps.

01

What kind of university is Teesside?

Teesside University traces back to Constantine College, founded in 1930, and teaches today on a single campus in central Middlesbrough. Its distinguishing side is digital: animation, game design and visual effects run alongside the institution's own studio infrastructure.

The institution runs its own studio and motion capture facilities in digital production, and the programmes are built around them. Its connection with the digital sector in the region is the arrangement it puts forward in its own material.

Degree-awarding powers sit on the Office for Students register; the authority to issue the CAS a student visa requires sits on the Home Office register of licensed sponsors. The two registers are kept separately and both are recorded in the institution's own name.

02

Which subjects stand out at Teesside?

Animation and game design are the best known fields here and are supported by projects run with the industry. Alongside them computer science, forensic science, engineering, nursing and business carry long course lists at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

  • Digital and Creative: animation, game design, visual effects, film, graphic design.
  • Computing and Engineering: computer science, cyber security, chemical, mechanical engineering.
  • Health and Life Sciences: nursing, forensic science, biomedical sciences, psychology.
  • Business and Law: business, accounting, marketing, law, criminology.

Forensic science programmes run with the institution's laboratory facilities and carry a practical teaching load. On the engineering side the connection with the region's chemical and energy industry shows in the course content.

03

What are the entry requirements at Teesside?

The institution publishes no single Turkey-wide grade threshold; the qualifications accepted and the mark required are stated in the entry requirements section of each course page. A Turkish high school diploma is not sufficient on its own.

The institution publishes no single Turkey-wide threshold, so the comparison is made on the course page itself.

For an applicant holding a Turkish high school diploma the route is an accepted qualification such as A-level or the IB, or one of the foundation programmes. The English level a course asks for is published on the same page.

04

What are tuition fees at Teesside?

The international fee varies by course and each course publishes the figure on its own page. The institution runs scholarships at undergraduate and postgraduate level; conditions and deadlines are listed on its funding pages by year of entry and by course.

Alongside tuition, living cost is the second large item. The maintenance funds a student visa asks you to show are set by region and come to £1,171 a month here; in London the same line is £1,529.

Postgraduate scholarships also run at department level and their deadlines close before the course's own. The UK scholarships page sets out the arrangement in general terms.

05

What is the campus and student life like in Middlesbrough?

The campus is gathered into a single area adjoining Middlesbrough city centre; the library, digital studios and a sports centre sit on the same site. The city centre and the railway station are reached on foot, keeping daily travel costs low.

Middlesbrough is an industrial town in the north-east of England and its cost of living sits markedly below the national average. The rent difference is the most visible line in a budget compared with the large cities.

Accommodation is mostly in university halls in the first year; later on students move into rented housing around the campus. Newcastle is an hour away by train and York under an hour.

06

  5. Once the conditions are met a CAS is issued and the student visa application follows.

British Global supplies information at this stage and, where it is wanted, introduces a firm whose authorisation has been verified on a register; assessing a visa application belongs to an IAA-registered or SRA-authorised adviser.
